A Week of Reviews: Glamglow Thirstymud

Image
Day 3:  GLAMGLOW Thirstymud Price: €56 for the 50g tub Where to buy:   Arnotts   This is the product that everyone and their granny was talking about in the run up to Christmas. I was lucky enough to find one peeking out of my stocking on Christmas morning :) Now this is not the grey/black face mask a lot of people have been using (that would be Youthmud), think of Thirstymud as an extremely thick and hydrating moisturiser. It's clear/beige in colour but it doesn't absorb in immediately so you may not look like you have a traditional face mask on but you will be very shiny! One of the things the Thirstymud promises to do is 'calms the skin' and for me it just does that. I apply this two or three evenings during the week and leave it on over night. In the morning I can notice that my skin looks more balanced, as in it's smoother and any redness has been reduced. Yes it is quite pricey, it definitely is a luxury product! But if you're going to splash out on yourse

A Week of Reviews: Declaré Gentle Cleansing Powder

Image
Day 2:  Declaré Gentle Cleansing Powder* Price: €24.50 for the 90g bottle Where to buy:   Bradleys Pharmacy , pharmacystore.ie Photo Credit: eleven.se If you haven't used a powder cleanser before then you need one in your life! Basically the cleanser comes in powder form (obviously), you just add a bit of water to make a lovely creamy foam, which is perfect for cleansing and even shaving(lads or ladies)! And what's even better is a little bit goes a very long way! This Declaré powder not only comes in a beautiful bottle but is very similar to the Dermalogica powder cleanser (€52) the only difference, aside from the price, is the Dermalogica one is a bit tougher so can be used as a light exfoliant. I use the Declaré cleanser about once or twice a week for a good proper cleanse and always get great results. I removes all traces of makeup and isn't too drying on the skin, although I would recommend using moisturiser after. It's suitable for all skin types especially for se

Glamping in Offaly

Image
I'm only back from glamping two days and I miss it already! I miss our cosy log cabin, our evening drinks from plastic champagne glasses and of course our early morning knock on the door to say breakfast has arrived. What I don't miss is the literal pain in my h*le from a very tough bike ride, but less of that, more of the good stuff. Glamping was an absolute dream, one I cannot recommend enough! Our 'glamping' consisted of a very cosy log cabin with three single beds, a ground level wicker rocking chair and a matching footstool. And that's it, no toilet, no TV, no mirror, none of the usual hotel room luxuries..... sure there has to be some element of camping to it! But don't worry the toilets were outside in a communal area, I wasn't too 'at one with nature'. We spent two nights there, the first one drinking in our cabin - as you do. Then spent one full day exploring Offaly and squeezed in as much as we could, which happened to include crashing two

A week of reviews: Kinvara Cleansing Oil

Image
Day 1:  Kinvara Absolute Cleansing Oil Price: €19.95 for the 100ml bottle Where to buy: Bradleys Pharmacy , Meaghers Pharmacy , Kinvara Website Photo Credit - www.kinvaraskincare.com So many people spoke about how fantastic this product was during 2015, so naturally I had to find out what all the fuss was about! I've never used a cleansing oil before, I'm more of a cream cleanser gal myself, but this is a product I really wanted to get my hands on.  To use the product you have to slightly wet your (fully made up) face, pump the product into your hand three or four times, and massage into your face. The oil instantly lifts any heavy make up off, including eye make up, so yes your mascara goes everywhere. But with a quick wipe of a warm, damp (and preferably dark) facecloth your face is instantly clean and fresh. You're also left with a very light layer of  the deliciously scented oil on your skin, to be absorbed throughout the night.  This product smells amazing, works grea

Snapchat TMI tag

Image
If you're on Snapchat you may have seen a few people doing  the TMI (too much information) tag over the last few days. It's a tag where you answer 50 somewhat personal questions about yourself, hence TMI.  I was tagged by @itsallgblog and did the tag earlier on today (Snapchat @jenniferdevitt) but I don't want people who aren't on Snapchat to miss out, so here's the questions  I answered.... 1. What am I wearing? A new stripy Penneys jumper. 2. Ever been in love? Yes, and luckily I still am :) 3. Ever had a terrible breakup? Thankfully no, no breakup is ever pleasant but luckily none of mine have been nasty! 4. How tall are you? I'm gonna say 5"4....max. 5. How much do you weigh? This is also a guess as I don't fancy hopping on the scales right now, so I'm guessing 9 & 1/2 stone. 6. Any tattoos?   No 7. Any piercings? Just my ear lobes now, I did have my belly button, tongue and tragus pierced when I was younger but have removed them over the y

Dior Forever Foundation Review

Image
At €50 a pop this is the most expensive foundation I have ever bought, but after being impressed with a sample I decided to treat myself to the bottle. After trying it out a few times over the past few weeks my conclusion is.....inconclusive. I just can't make up my mind on this one!  So what's good about it? The bottle itself is fab, you just know it's a luxury item. The foundation literally slides on and blends in like a dream! The coverage is fantastic but the foundation is still lightweight and doesn't looked caked on. If it stopped there I'd give it 10/10 straight away. But....and there's always a 'but'. I have found on a few occasions that my skin is quite oily after a few hours. I used it during the week with a Flormar primer and by the end of the day my face looked like an oil spill!! Today I tried it with a Mac Primer and the oiliness wasn't as bad, but still noticeable enough. If the foundation stayed the way it started off  it would be per
