Oktoberfest Antics

Image
I don't like beer but I love Oktoberfest!! When my friends were making plans to go to Oktoberfest after work on Friday, I was thinking.....it's not really my scene but I'll go anyway, just to be social. Little did I know it would turn out to be one of those unplanned, deadly nights out. Oktoberfest is literally just a massive drinking festival! What more could you ask for? There's no dress code and because it's outdoors there's no fear of looking too casual, so you can get away with wearing what's comfortable or go a bit dressier if you want. The only thing I'd recommend is go early because it was jam packed by 6pm! If you've never been to Oktoberfest before....it's exactly what you think it is. Loads of people dressed in them lederhosen outfits and everyone swigging  out of steins (them litre sized German beer glasses). Also ladies, it's full of fellas like a good 10:1 ratio ;) And don't be worried if you don't drink beer, the serve

Friday Night Outfit

As promised here's last night's outfit details.... Last night myself and Dean headed out for his cousin's birthday. It was just a few drinks in her house, but it was still a fashionable affair, not that I ever need an excuse to dress up :) From top to toe : I finally got a chance to wear my bargain gilet! It's the one I bought in the Ha'penny Flea Market for a fiver at the start of the summer. I've been dying to wear it since I got it, and last night's miserable weather was the perfect excuse to layer up! I threw it on over my trusty Topshop leather jacket that I've had for about two years now, and it never lets me down! My t-shirt is from Penneys and I think it will be one of my favourites! I love the style with the rolled up sleeves and it's a really nice soft cotton that hangs nicely. I got it in a size 12 so it wasn't too tight! It was €8 and I only bought it a week ago so it should be still in the shops! The jeans are from Zara and are the o

Day Trip to Powerscourt

Image
Myself and Dean finally had a day where neither of us were working or studying so I was determined to make the most of it! I hate spending my weekend doing nothing! So with the promise of good weather, we decided to go to Powerscourt Gardens and Waterfall. And it was just pure luck that a deal came up on grabone.ie during the week! We got admission for two people to the gardens for a fiver and two people to the waterfall for €8. Bargain! I'm not sure of the normal price but I think the savings on both deals were about 50%.  So this morning I packed our picnic (but forgot the blanket!!) and we set off. Myself or Dean have never been to Powerscourt so didn't know what to expect. And just so you know the gardens and waterfall aren't actually in the same place but you'd definitely visit both in the same day. We went to the gardens first and they were fabulous!  It was such a lovely walk with loads of ponds, streams, bridges and plenty of trees and flowers of course! There w

InstaLife

I'm very sorry I've been so quiet on the blog lately! Nothing much has been going on since my holiday so I haven't had much to post. But there's always something going on over on my Instagram :) I think people either love or hate Instagram but I absolutely love it! And as they say, a picture says a thousand words :) I try to post something to my Instagram everyday, of anything and everything, whatever I come across. So here's my most recent updates! Spanish Decor I got this candle holder, as well as another similar one at a stall in Spain for about €7 each. My apartment is looking a lot less bare lately, but I do love picking up the odd thing if it catches my eye! And like my Mam I'm addicted to candles! Homemade Rye Bread I picked up a pack of rye bread flour (or whatever's in the bag) in Aldi last week. Nothing beats fresh bread, especially the smell of it wafting through the apartment! This turned out to be absolutely delicious, but it did take ages to
