Make Up Revolution Purchases

Image
Oh how I love to buy new things! A few weeks ago I put up a post on Facebook, looking for a recommendation for a new eye shadow palette, as I've been using the Urban Decay Naked palettes for way too long and I wanted to branch out and try something new.  It wasn't before long that I had loads of options, and one of my readers Louise Travers introduced me to the brand Makeup Revolution . Once I went onto the website I knew it was bad news for my purse! Don't get me wrong, everything is super cheap but that made me want it all! Everything in the below picture cost me less than €40, including delivery!!!! One of the first things I put into my 'basket' was this matte eyeshadow palette ( buy here ). I usually go for the shimmery eyeshadows, so eventhough it looks plain, it was a brave choice for me! Side note: The packaging is fantastic! It's a really good, solid plastic case with a pretty decent mirror, way better than some other, more expensive brands (I'm loo

Liebster Award Post

Thanks to G race from It's All G Blog for nominating me for the Liebster Award. I'd say a lot of you have no idea what I'm talking about so let me quickly fill you in. The Liebster Award nomination is in it's simplest form a chain letter (but a good one) from one blogger to another. It's a great way to share and support other bloggers as well as discovering new ones. It also gives readers a bit more personal information about the blogger, which I am always wary of, but it's good to step out of your comfort zone . So for this I was asked 11 questions, I've to nominate other 11 bloggers and I've to ask them 11 different questions. These are the questions I was asked to answer from Grace. 1.  Describe yourself in three words? Meticulous....which is not always a good thing! Uneasy.....I always like to be doing something! I can't sit down for too long and I hate to waste the day with a lie in! Indecisive ....because it took me three days to pick another

Salon with a Subscription Service

Would you pay a membership fee to a beauty salon so you can avail of special membership discounts? Body Connection Spa Blanchardstown Sounds interesting, right? I recently received a leaflet in the post offering exactly that. A local salon in Dublin 15 allows people to sign up as members, so they can receive a wide range of treatments with a discount of up to 50% off, for a small membership fee. So I put my investigators hat on and went Body Connection Spa in Blanchardstown to find out more. Tracy there gave me more details about the offer and it's basically as simple as it sounds. You pay €13.50 (€8.50 for students) per month, by direct debit and pretty much every treatment has some sort of discount. There's no catch and no contract involved. If you find you're not using the salon enough to make your membership worth while, you just opt out of the direct debit. Here's just a handful of the non membership vs membership prices. Now, you'd want to be going to the salo

Vinylux Nails @ Polish

Image
How many times have you gotten Shellac done and two weeks later you've picked half it off, as well as the top layer of your nails? I'll be the first to admit I've done it plenty of times myself! Now I'm not slating Shellac, I absolutely love it, I'm just extremely lazy when it comes to getting it removed!  So if you're like me, listen up while I educate you on 'Vinylux'. This revolutionary nail varnish brought to you by CND, the makers of Shellac, promises to last seven days and when you're done you can take it off yourself, with some good old nail varnish remover!! So does it actually last, or is it just like every other bottle of nail varnish, filled with empty promises? Luckily I got to opportunity to put it to the test! I went to Polish on Lower Fitzwilliam Street, and got treated to a Vinylux manicure. Polish is a salon which is affiliated with CND so had pretty much every colour in the range, which is loads! I went for 'Creekside' as

Penneys Outfit

Image
I had loads of interest in these Penneys jeans and this outfit in general, so here's some quick details... Jeans: Penneys €19 Top: Penneys €4 Clutch: Mulberry (fake) Shoes: River Island (old - similar here ) Jewellery: Claire's Accessories & Pandora I picked the jeans up on Thursday evening without trying them on, not really expecting them to fit as Penneys jeans are not made for people with larger thighs, but I could not find decent white jeans anywhere else! I'm usually a size 10 in jeans but went with these in a size 12 so I'd actually be able to get them past my knees! The tag says mid rise, but with the bigger size I can pull them up a bit more. They're a nice tight fit on my legs, the ankles are a tad loose, waist fits grand but there is a bit of room around....my lady parts! I only notice this when I sit down and the material gathers. But they're well worth the €19 and they come in black as well so I'll definitely be picking them up! How they look

Make Up by Polish Hand & Foot Spa

Image
As you may have seen from my millions of pictures on Facebook & Instagram , I got my make up done! This is so exciting for me because it's something I never do! If I'm going to a salon it's usually for nails or a blow dry, I just never think to get my make up done! And why wouldn't I? I do my own make up decent enough.....but let's be honest it's never anything special. So I was only delighted when I was given the opportunity to have someone else do it for me! I was invited to Polish Hand & Foot Spa to get my make up done yesterday evening, and it was such a lovely treat!! First of all Polish Spa on Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin is a very chic salon run by Leanne and Emma. For me (and probably most other people) the interior of a salon really adds to the experience and Polish Spa did not disappoint. It was a really clean and fresh salon with pretty blue wallpaper and lovely white and grey antique furniture. Leanne Nugent the owner of Polish Spa and aka F
