My Top 5 Makeup Brushes

Image
The other day I was asked on Facebook what my top five makeup brushes were, initially I thought grand, I probably only use five anyway. But when I actually thought about it, I realised I could easily use five brushes for my base alone!!! I am by no means a makeup artist, but have come to the conclusion that I'm a makeup mega fan! So if the worst came to the worst and I could only use five makeup brushes, I'd pick these..... 1. Makeup Revolution Buffing brush This brush is definitely a non essential, but I can't get enough of it!!! I use it after I've applied my foundation and concealer to just go that extra step to achieving a completely flawless finish. Makeup Revolution Contour Brush Once again this is a non essential but I do use it every day, yes I contour everyday!! I love the angle on this, it's perfect for a nice shadow under my cheekbones and fluffy enough so I can blend the

Portland & Seattle

Following on from my previous post , let me finally fill you in on the next leg of our trip - Portland & Seattle....two of America's most hipstery cities! Myself and Dean spent two nights in both Portland and Seattle and I can safely say I've never drank as much beer in my life, as I did in those few days!  Both cities are known for their large number of breweries, and of course Dean made sure we visited the majority of them! But ..... I'm just not really into beer, and we spent most of our time drinking it. So because of that, I'm not exactly raving about the city, but it wasn't all bad....thankfully food came to the rescue! Every restaurant we went to was fantastic and you can't visit Portland without experiencing the famous food truck delicacies! Some roads were completely lined with all kinds of food trucks..... you name it, they sell it! We sampled delicious tacos, grilled cheese and healthy juices just to name a few! As for Seattle, now that's a p

Foundation Fail

Image
For the past two days I have been trying out this Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation, and I'm sure you've guessed it by now.....it gets a thumbs down from me! I tried it for the first time yesterday and immediately noticed it was quite oily, that led to it being hard to blend and even though the coverage turned out well, I did have to build it up. And at eight o'clock in the morning, I don't really have the time to be building, buffing and blending like a pro! I gave it another go today with a much lighter moisturiser, hoping that would reduce the oiliness...but no. It was the same story, and the same story with the coverage and blending, I even had the beauty blender out, hoping that would help! At the end of the day, the foundation has worn off in places, it has settled into lines on my face, I'm very shiny and to be honest I just look dirty! I had really high hopes for this foundation as so many people recommend it! It's just not one for oily(ish) skin. I'll st

....where black literally is the new black. Zara has been my go-to shop for key pieces recently, and going on recent purchases, I doubt that will change anytime soon! First up is this fabulous fringe cardigan, the material is surprisingly heavy but actually really soft and warm. I can see myself throwing this on over any outfit, and having it as a very fashionable cosy cardi. On the right is a gorgeous skirt and fine knit jumper that I haven't had the chance to wear yet, but be assured, it'll be all over social media the minute I do! The leather jacket is an old one, but Zara have a very similar, very fabulous one, that I'm so tempted to buy!! It's a bargain at €30 and comes in a few different colours, so don't be
