Irish girl in Canada

Image
***Guest Post by Siobhan Devitt *** I moved to Vancouver in June 2013, I’d travelled before in Europe and the US but really wanted to see how I’d get on living in a different country & setting up a life somewhere new. Before I moved to Vancouver I didn’t really know a lot about Canada…basically just that it was cold & far away! I soon found out that there’s a lot more to it than that and love living over here! The first, and hardest part, of moving is getting the visa sorted! Getting the visa was easily one of the most stressful things I've done, just waiting to be accepted and filling out the mountains of paperwork can be very confusing but there’s a lot of support out there for anyone thinking of applying. The moving2canada website and IEC Facebook page are a great resource for anyone currently going through the process. Once you get through that and have settled on a date to move it’s a blur of booking flights, planning, packing and saying your goodbyes before you get

Looking for something a bit lighter?

Luckily Ireland has been blessed with some pretty decent weather over the last few weeks, but is anyone else really struggling to dress for it?! My daily struggle usually consists of..... 'do I wear a coat or not? I might need it in the morning but it'll be too hot in the afternoon and if I'm out late the evening it can get quite chilly.' Basically it's Ireland and there's bound to be some rain on the way! But I can't wear my winter coat, first of all it's too heavy to wear and I also don't want to be left lugging it around when the sun does come out! I need a 'go between' , a nice light coat that will cover me if there's a breeze, something I can layer it with a scarf if necessary and a coat that won't weigh my bag down when I'm enjoying some afternoon sunshine. So if your having the same issue, here's my favourite light weight coats from the high street, and I tried to keep them cheap enough, hopefully they'll only be a

Coachella Style @ Claire's Accessories

Image
I  was recently invited to  Claire's Accessories Graft on Street  to have a look at their Coachella inspired jewellery and accessories, and as a massive jewellery hoarder I was absolutely delighted to go! I'll be honest with you, when I hear Claire's Accessories I do think neon tutu's and the like. But I was pleasantly surprised to see they've seriously upped their game. The jewellery the Grafton Street store had was right up my alley, as I like my jewellery to be bangly, jangly* or dangly, and like I said Claire's Accessories did not disappoint. ***Keep reading for a great discount offer!!!*** The first thing that caught my eye was a whole wall of silver and turquoise jewellery. I'm talking beachy-boho distressed silver, chunky necklaces, intricate details on bracelets and rings, elephants, moons, stars, and of course some very trendy coin necklaces. These kind of pieces are me all over and I was literally like a child in a sweet shop, grabbing everything I

Penneys - Bargain blazers and bras.

I feel like I'm always banging on about what I buy in Penneys, I swear to God I do shop elsewhere, but Penneys has really upped it's game in the last while and once again I've come home with some  lovely new things and I not completely broke...just yet. I've said it once and I'll say it again, Penneys Mary Street is my favourite branch to shop in and that's where I got all these new bits. Sunglasses - €1.50         Playsuit - €16  The picture does not do this playsuit justice! It's going to be perfect for summer, with heels or flats, a top under, over it, whatever I can find.... it's so versatile! And the shorts are long enough to cover my bum cheeks! P.S....I went for this one in a size 12, to avoid any camel toe action! Sports Bra - €5 Another reason why I love Penneys....the gym gear! This sports bra was only a fiver, now I know it mightn't have enough support for the bustier ladies but for anyone like myself who hasn't got much going on up to

Tried and Tested....Ziaja skincare

Image
Ever heard of Ziaja skincare? No, me neither, well not until I went to the Ziaja Skincare event last Thursday, hosted by the lovely Emma from Mastering Your Makeup , and let me tell ya, it's a name you won't want to forget! I am delighted to have been introduced to this very affordable brand and luckily I got to take a few bits home to try out. This Polish brand has been around for 25 years and their main mantra is 'focus on skin' and that's exactly what they do. No fancy packaging, no secret elixir of life, just good quality ingredients. They offer a massive range of about 900 products and they all have different benefits depending on the main ingredient used, such as saffron for mature skin, goat's milk for dry skin and cocoa butter for hydration. I tried out products from the Cocoa Butter and Olive Leaf range and was super impressed. First thing I noticed was how nice all the products smelt. They were real familiar, comforting smells and as well as that,  al
