An #oscarworthy Night

Image
Last week I was kindly invited along to a private event to try a selection of courses from Oscars Bar & Kitchen's brand new menu. I headed in with my pal Samantha Loves and also met up with In The Deetales , The Ravenous Woman & Nelly Says . I have never eaten in Oscars and had no idea what a taster menu entailed, but I was in for a treat! The rejuvenated restaurant has a relaxed, vintage feel to it, with absolute superstar staff! There was brilliant entertainment on the night from Frankly Buble and a great atmosphere from all the hungry and excited guests!  P.S.....our table was gas craic!!! We were greeted with a deliciously refreshing 'Bullseye' beer cocktail, I loved this and would have gladly drank it all night! It is the perfect summer evening cocktail! Shortly after, we were served our first course, scotch eggs! This was followed by a black pudding and cauliflower dish which I was a huge fan of! We were given time to digest our meal and chat before the sw

So you wanna be a blogger?

Image
I've been getting a lot of questions lately about blogging so thought I'd write a quick post on what I get asked most frequently. First of all I am still absolutely scarlet at calling myself a 'blogger'. I do have a full time job so blogging still is, and will probably always be, a very enjoyable hobby. How do you set up a blog? Easy peasy! There's two main platforms for blogging - blogger and wordpress . I use blogger, it's free, very easy to set up and use. These platforms allow you write and publish your blog posts and offer different layout and templates to personalise it. You can buy other templates from the likes of Etsy for anywhere between €5 - €100. Setting up a blog takes a couple of minutes (choosing the name is probably the hardest part) and just like that you're ready to take the next step and publish your first post. What to write? My one piece of advice about blogging is to write for yourself but assume everyone is going to read it. Basically

Bardot Babe

The bardot trend is one that has been spotted on countless celebrities over the past few months and one that we will all be wearing over the summer. It's a very romantic and relaxed style that anyone can get away with. So here are my favourite off the shoulder styles from the high street..... Payday Haul

Image
I have a serious problem holding onto my money, so the minute I got paid I hit the shops! Zara Zara was my first stop as I wanted to make sure I spent the bulk of my money on quality items. My mission was to stay away from black and I kinda succeeded..... I picked up these blue jeans, which are ripped at the knee and at the end. As a bit of a shorty I find Zara jeans the perfect length. These one's are mid rise and quite stretchy, and not bad at all for €39.95. Buy Here Keeping things casual I also picked up this khaki blouse with gold studs on the shoulder. I have been wearing it non stop since I got it and know I'll wear it so much over the summer. It's heavier than a normal blouse but not heavy enough to be a jacket, so perfect to throw on over a little cami. Buy Here I couldn't completely stay away from black and just  had to  pick up this skirt. I have it in green and knew the black would be a great addition to my wardrobe.  Buy Here Last but not least I bought thi

Weekend in Wesport

Image
Right now I'm curled up on my sofa suffering from a horrendous chest infection, so what else would I be doing than reminiscing on last weekend, which was spent in the lovely Westport Plaza Hotel . I received this weekend away as a Christmas present, so have been counting down to it since then! Myself and Dean headed down last Friday and upon arrival to our room there was some lovely local treats laid out for us, which were instantly scoffed! We enjoyed a quick drink in our room (sent up by Deans dogs, who probably got help from his parents) before heading out to the local town. The hotel is superbly located so the two minute walk to the pub was not a bother in my Penneys heels. Eventhough it's a small town, I got so many recommendations for places to visit, so trying to fit them all in was a struggle! Westport has no shortage of pubs so we had a few drinks in Cosy Joe's , Matt Molloys & JJ O'Malleys before heading to dinner. Dinner was in a cute little Italian rest

Penneys Shoe Haul

Image
Last night I had an hour to kill so said I'd pop into Penneys, Blanchardstown for a browse. Emphasis on the word browse . It's four days til payday so you know yourself, it's beans on toast for lunch and I've been avoiding eye contact with the petrol light!! So maybe visiting Penneys wasn't the best option for my wallet but it was great for my wardrobe!! My "browse" ended up with me buying four pairs of shoes which came to a grand total of €51!!! How could I not?! I originally headed towards the shoe section looking for some casual, day time flats to wear with jeans and the like. So I went with these cute nautical loafers, which were only €13. They are super comfy and perfect coming into the summer. I then wandered into the sandal section to see what styles were on offer for this summer and these €6 cute, simple beaded sandals caught my eye. A great colour to wear with pretty much anything, but they do come in green and pink if you're after something a

My Favourite things to do in Dublin

Image
With summer fast approaching it's the perfect time to discover new things in and around Dublin. Whether you are from here or just coming for a visit, here's some inspiration on how to spend your time! The Phoenix Park This may seem like an obvious one but you just can't beat the Phoenix Park. Now that the weather is getting better, chances are I'll be visiting my local park at least once a week. I love to grab a coffee from the Tea Rooms while listening to the lions roar from inside the Zoo (literally, they roar crazy loud!), all while doing a spot of people watching. Most weekends there's a polo match on in the park, and even though I've no idea what's happening, it's still enjoyable to watch. If I'm in he park on the right weekend (first Sunday of every month) I'll make sure to visit the Farmleigh market, where I can grab a delicious crepe and some more coffee! I also have a Dublin Bike subscription which gives me easy access to a bike for a q
