We bought a house!!

Image
I actually can't believe I'm writing this but yes we bought a house!! Well technically speaking we are in the process of buying a house, but we have paid a booking deposit on one. So let me tell you how it happened :) Myself and Dean had gone looking at a few different houses, but with the relief available from the Help To Buy  Scheme a new house seemed the most suitable for us. A couple of months ago we first went to the show houses from this new estate just to have a look, but kinda fobbed off the idea of us being able to buy a new house. After we had been approved for the Help To Buy scheme we went back a second time and after crunching the numbers we realised one of these houses were an option. We then went back a third time with our parents and got their seal of approval.  Side note: My mam went on and on about how I shouldn't be fooled by a show house but she wasn't even 2ft in the door when she was declaring her love for the place! 😂😂 We spoke briefly with the ...

L'Oreal Colorista Washout Colour

Image
As you may have noticed I'm on a pink hair mission at the moment. If I may say so myself, I already have lovely blonde hair (thanks to Daniel Sheridan ) so I don't want to fuck it up  mess with it too much.  First of all I tried the L'Oreal Colorista spray in colour in Pastel Pink, you can read all about it here .  After that worked a treat, I was ready to step things up a notch so I tried the L'Oreal Colorista Washout Colour (in Pastel Pink). Now this only lasts 2-3 washes so once again nothing to dramatic. This is just a classic bottle of hair dye. Basically a tube of pink goo. I just went for it and started rubbing it into my dry hair, as per the instructions. I wanted a kind of ombre/highlights effect so didn't put it near my scalp. Twenty minutes later I rinsed it out, no shampoo or conditioner needed, and ta-dah my hair was pink. So whereas it had done exactly what it said on the box it was a lot brighter than I had hoped for, it was pink-pink rather than past...

My HerClutterBox Makeup Organiser

Image
I recently received a ' ClutterBox ', which is a luxury acrylic makeup organiser, from the Irish company HerClutterBox. Upon receiving it I knew it was much better quality than similar, cheaper ones out there, based on the sheer weight of it. This organiser is seriously sturdy!  I received the four drawer version and was in my element organising it! I have seen pictures of these Clutter Boxes all over the internet so I was dying to get started on mine. I am a bit of a neat freak so already had my makeup pretty well organised, into grubby boxes from old Christmas gift sets. Not very glam. The ClutterBox is a major step up from that and not only does it look great on display, it's also easy to clean if a bit of makeup transfers onto it. So lets's get down to it, you want to know if it's worth the price. As I said I got the four drawer box which has three small drawers and a bottom drawer about twice the dept of the others. This drawer is perfect for storing palettes e...

My Irish Beauty Show Haul

Image
Over the weekend, for the first time ever, I went to The Irish Beauty Show.....and what an experience! As far as I know the show originally started off as a trade show but now anybody can buy a ticket and head on in to stock up on their favourite beauty bits. The RDS hall was jam packed with stands and stalls selling anything and everything beauty related. All the well known names were there including Blank Canvas, Benefit, Real Techniques, Makeup Revolution and Dermalogica...just to name a few. Now this show is not for the faint hearted as it was full to the brim of beauty enthusiasts looking for a bargain, and I of course was one of them. So here's my (mini) haul from my first Irish Beauty Show. My first purchase was these hella cute pom pom shoes, I know....not exactly beauty related, but they were a steal at €15 so I couldn't say no. The brand on the box is Nio Nio but I think they were just being sold by a general trader. Here's a link to a similar pair from eBay: http...

House Hunting

Image
As you may have seen, myself and Dean are now full on house hunting! I have never felt like such an adult in my life! Like how have I gone from deciding if I want an €8 Penneys top, to deciding what house I want to live in for probably the rest of my life!! This is serious pressure! We started off by looking at a local new development, just to get an idea of what this whole house hunting business is all about. We went in, ooh'ed and aah'ed over the show houses and left. We spoke to no one and asked no questions. We didn't knock on any walls or whip out the measuring tape. The houses were fabulous, of course. Lovely fluffy carpets, a sparkling kitchen and beautiful bedrooms but I have no idea about anything else! As soon as we got home the questions came flooding in, was the garden big, could we convert the attic, was there a green near by, what's the BER rating, was the furniture on display standard size (apparently they use smaller furniture to make rooms look bigger)....

L'Oreal Colorista Spray Review

Image
I have been lusting over pastel pink hair on Pinterest for the longest time! And this weekend I finally got to try out the trend for myself. As this was a bit of an experiment and I didn't want to run the risk of a permanent disastrous 'do, I used the new L'Oreal Colorista wash out hair spray (shade Pastel Pink) from Bradleys Pharmacy . And it's as simple as that, you spray it on and wash it out. No commitment necessary. As I'm quite blonde the colour took to my hair extremely well. The bottle has a narrow nozzle so I gave my hair an all over spray, which gave a light colour. I then took sections of my hair and gave them a close up spray for a more intense colour. Now I did use most of the bottle, so you really only get one or two go's out of it. I absolutely loved the look, it's exactly what I wanted! The colour lasted the whole night and only a small bit of it wore off as I slept. This range definitely has something for everyone. I'm already dying to t...

We got mortgage approval!

Image
This will be a short and sweet post, as there's not much to it, but as you can tell from the title.....we got mortgage approval!!! If you haven't read my previous post on how we started the whole mortgage process, you can read it here . As before, to keep things on a timeline we got the (first) mortgage approval on February 7th after meeting the mortgage broker for the first time on January 21st. Our application was a bit delayed as we didn't have all our documents together for our meeting, and we needed a gift letter.* *Myself and Dean had received a gift (of money like 😉) from mine and his parents, so they just had to sign a form saying it was a gift and we did not owe it back to them. Click here for the template I used. Once all our documents were in, it took about a week for us to hear back from our mortgage broker with the approval.  I was in work with a client and I could see Dean ringing my phone like mad, but I couldn't answer. As soon as I was free I rang him...
