Make Up by Polish Hand & Foot Spa

As you may have seen from my millions of pictures on Facebook & Instagram, I got my make up done! This is so exciting for me because it's something I never do! If I'm going to a salon it's usually for nails or a blow dry, I just never think to get my make up done! And why wouldn't I? I do my own make up decent enough.....but let's be honest it's never anything special. So I was only delighted when I was given the opportunity to have someone else do it for me!


I was invited to Polish Hand & Foot Spa to get my make up done yesterday evening, and it was such a lovely treat!! First of all Polish Spa on Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin is a very chic salon run by Leanne and Emma. For me (and probably most other people) the interior of a salon really adds to the experience and Polish Spa did not disappoint. It was a really clean and fresh salon with pretty blue wallpaper and lovely white and grey antique furniture.



Leanne Nugent the owner of Polish Spa and aka Faces By Leanne looked after me for the make up and I'm sure you'll agree she did a fantastic job!! I felt completely transformed! I pretty much let Leanne do what she wanted with my make up but she incorporated my usually colours and went strong on the eye, which my face definitely needs. My eyelashes and eyebrows are so blonde that they're nearly invisible, so for me a strong eye always takes preference, as it gives my face some much needed definition.

Afternoon Tea in The Atrium Lounge

A few weeks ago, my sister treated myself and my Mam to afternoon tea in The Atrium Lounge in The Westin Hotel, for both our birthdays. And what a treat it was.... Firstly The Atrium Lounge is stunning! It's a beautiful, bright, internal courtyard right in the middle of The Westin Hotel with a five storey high glass ceiling. Once we were seated we instantly ordered a glass of prosecco (no surprises there) and we were advised on the options available to us. There are two types of afternoon tea to choose from. One is A Most Peculiar Afternoon Tea and the other, which we went for, is a traditional afternoon tea. Perfect Porto

Do you like sunshine? Do you like cheap wine and delicious food? We ll if so, make Porto your next stop! Our two hour flight to Porto was an absolute steal at €60 per person return (no checked bags) and with no time difference you pretty much pick up where you left off. It's a small enough city with a fairly uncomplicated  Metro system, so f or €2.60 you can get the 'E' line directly from the airport to the city (Trinidade stop) and you're there within 40 minutes. Literally no hassle at all. Usually myself and Dean like to stay in Airbnb's when travelling but as the rates were so cheap we 'treated' ourselves to a nice hotel. The  Exe Almada Hotel  is very modern, very central and the rooms were a bit bigger (and nicer) than most European city hotels. I have the hotel marked on the map below and anywhere from the hotel down to the water would be considered central (as you can see I've saved loads of bars and restaurants in between the hotel and the river)
