Make Up Revolution Purchases

Oh how I love to buy new things! A few weeks ago I put up a post on Facebook, looking for a recommendation for a new eye shadow palette, as I've been using the Urban Decay Naked palettes for way too long and I wanted to branch out and try something new.
It wasn't before long that I had loads of options, and one of my readers Louise Travers introduced me to the brand Makeup Revolution. Once I went onto the website I knew it was bad news for my purse! Don't get me wrong, everything is super cheap but that made me want it all! Everything in the below picture cost me less than €40, including delivery!!!!

One of the first things I put into my 'basket' was this matte eyeshadow palette (buy here). I usually go for the shimmery eyeshadows, so eventhough it looks plain, it was a brave choice for me!

Side note: The packaging is fantastic! It's a really good, solid plastic case with a pretty decent mirror, way better than some other, more expensive brands (I'm looking at you Crownbrush!!)

The colours are all very warm and neutral which makes them so wearable and also really soft on the eyes.

Also for my eyes I bought the Amazing Curl Mascara and the eye primer 'Stay Don't Stray'. Both were about €3/€4 each and the primer was a great buy!! I really noticed a difference with how long my liquid eye liner lasted and no eye shadow gathered in the crease. The mascara is grand, nothing amazing about it, but it does the same job as my current mascara which cost about €15 so I'm prectically making money!

It doesn't stop there! I picked up two makeup brushes as well, which were also extremely cheap. One for powder contouring which I use for applying a bronzer below my cheekbones and at my hair line, the other is a simple stippling brush for blending foundation. Just basic brushes that you'll always use.

But it had to go wrong somewhere, and that was with the lipsticks! I bought a pinky one (Baby Doll) and a nudey one (Game of Mystery Matte). The pink one is way too bright for me, it's very Barbie pink (I should have copped by the name) and the nude one just looks like a stick of concealer, which is not a good look! But at least they didn't break the bank :)

All in all, Makeup Revolution gets a thumbs up from me. It's a really affordable brand offering seriously good products!
