An #oscarworthy Night

Last week I was kindly invited along to a private event to try a selection of courses from Oscars Bar & Kitchen's brand new menu.

I headed in with my pal Samantha Loves and also met up with In The Deetales, The Ravenous Woman & Nelly Says. I have never eaten in Oscars and had no idea what a taster menu entailed, but I was in for a treat! The rejuvenated restaurant has a relaxed, vintage feel to it, with absolute superstar staff! There was brilliant entertainment on the night from Frankly Buble and a great atmosphere from all the hungry and excited guests!
P.S.....our table was gas craic!!!

We were greeted with a deliciously refreshing 'Bullseye' beer cocktail, I loved this and would have gladly drank it all night! It is the perfect summer evening cocktail! Shortly after, we were served our first course, scotch eggs! This was followed by a black pudding and cauliflower dish which I was a huge fan of! We were given time to digest our meal and chat before the sweet, sticky ribs arrived. These were served in a cute crate and were crazy delish! It was evident that these were a firm favourite amongst the crowd!

All courses were either small or shared plates so I still had room for my next four courses! There was a lovely course of Morrocan lamb, which was tasty but not something I'd go for. Let me add in I was loudly telling my table that 'I'm not a huge fan of lamb' when the music suddenly stopped and I'm pretty sure even the chefs in the kitchen heard me say it!!

This was followed by an amazing salmon BLT with caper mayonnaise (mmmm.....capers!) and it's a toss up between this and the ribs for my favourite dish of the night. I'll definitely be returning for this sandwich alone! At this stage we were all loosening our belt buckled but managed to taste the flank steak and chips, both of which were cooked to perfection! Dessert, which was a ginger and rhubarb panna cotta, was brought out to us by the chefs who got a huge well deserved round of applause.

The whole evening was brilliant from start to finish. The staff working that night went above and beyond to look after us. It was an all round fantastic evening, with superb food and friends. I'm so looking forward to going back again knowing that I'll get great food and fantastic service!

Thank you so much to Irish Blogger Association and Oscars Bar for inviting me!
