Roll on Payday!

Image
April has been one of those months when all of my favourite products ran out! So roll on pay day because I have a lot of re-purchasing to do! And these are just a few of the produts that will be on the top of my shopping list.....     Declare Cleansing Milk   I am a huge fan of the Declare brand and this cleanser did not disappoint. It retails at €19.95 for a 400ml bottle which is huge, so lasts absolutely ages! It's a lovely light creamy cleanser perfect for daily use on sensitive skin.     Botanics Eye Make Up Remover & Micellar Water   Another huge factor in my skincare routine. The eye makeup remover is oil based so gets even the thickest mascars off, all without being too harsh on the eyes. I use the micellar water either before or after my Declare cleanser when my make up has been quite heavy.     Urban Decay Perversion Mascara   This mascara is pretty much a cult product at this stage and I can see why! I have the wimpiest of lashes and even this mascara gives them a not

Nice and Light

It's that time of the year again when getting dressed in the morning is a daily struggle! What are you supposed to wear when Ireland basically gets all four seasons in one day? In my opinion, your best bet is a nice light jacket, you won't be a sweaty mess come 5pm, and if you need to layer up just grab a scarf that you can easily throw in your bag. Here's my top picks of some nice light coats that are in the shops at the minute. Light Faux Suede Jacket - Oasis €64 buy here Cargo Jacket - Warehouse €77 buy here Cotton Trench - Zara €79.95 buy here Printed Jacket - H&M €119 buy here Pink Trench - H&M €49.99 buy here Burgundy Coat - ASOS €98.59 buy here Khaki Duster Coat - River Island €87 buy here Facebook @  The Life and Style of Jen Instagram @  The Life and Style of Jen Snapchat @jennniferdevitt

My Catfish Story

Image
So I was debating whether or not to put this whole issue up on the blog. Mainly because it sounds way more dramatic than it actually is!! It also crossed my mind that it was too personal to share? But I've ended up writing this because at the end of the day, is it something I'd want to read? Hell yes! So lets go back to the start..... On Tuesday I got a comment on my personal Facebook page, by a complete stranger who told to check my Facebook messages...... Clearly I did not believe a word this fella was saying, mainly because I'm always on Snapchat talking about how much I love Catfish, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone was taking the piss! Anyway...this fella was blocked from the 'other' Jennifer's profile and when I searched for the name he gave me I couldn't find anything. I was still quite suspicious at this stage, but he told me his friend helped him figure out she was fake, and the friend would try get a screenshot of the profile. So I eventua

A Week of Reviews: Sleek vs Makeup Revolution

Image
Day 4:  Sleek Face Form Palette vs Make Up Revolution Ultra Sculpt & Contour Kit Price: Sleek Palette €13.49 in Boots Makeup Revolution Palette £3.50 from Makeup Revolution The celebrity death match of dupes.... There's no denying that one of these products is a blatant copy of the other, but with one being nearly twice the price, which one comes up trumps? In the picture above we have Makeup Revolution (MR for short) on the left and Sleek on the right. there really isn't that much difference, but the MR one just doesn't look as good. Its not as smooth (or sleek!) as the Sleek one, and what you can't see is that the Sleek palette has a mirror in the lid, which always comes in handy! But it all comes down to how it looks and lasts on the face. Today I have Sleek on one cheek and Makeup Revolution on the other.  To see any real differences you have to seriously inspect them, any that's exactly what I did.  The MR one is way more powdery on application, so is a bi

March Highlights

Image
I was going to do a March Favourites - as in products I was enjoying, but March was a bit of an exciting* month so I said I'd talk about what I got up to instead... *exciting in my books anyway Passing My Driving Test Finally!! I do not want to admit to how long I've been a learner for! Far too long anyway! So I bit the bullet (for the second time) and sat my driving test. And as you can tell I passed! It was the most nerve wracking thing I've done in a long time and I am so glad to have it behind me! I have to give a special (not sponsored) mention to my driving instructor, John from gsm.ie - I seriously could not have done it without him! A quarter million people If you run a Facebook page or have ever heard anyone talk about them, you know it's a major struggle to get your posts seen in newsfeeds! Sigh! Well one evening I shared a funny picture and little did I know it would be shared by hundreds of people, for my little Facebook page to be seen by a quarter of a mi
