A Week of Reviews: Sleek vs Makeup Revolution
Day 4: Sleek Face Form Palette vs Make Up Revolution Ultra Sculpt & Contour Kit
The celebrity death match of dupes....
There's no denying that one of these products is a blatant copy of the other, but with one being nearly twice the price, which one comes up trumps?
In the picture above we have Makeup Revolution (MR for short) on the left and Sleek on the right. there really isn't that much difference, but the MR one just doesn't look as good. Its not as smooth (or sleek!) as the Sleek one, and what you can't see is that the Sleek palette has a mirror in the lid, which always comes in handy!
But it all comes down to how it looks and lasts on the face. Today I have Sleek on one cheek and Makeup Revolution on the other. To see any real differences you have to seriously inspect them, any that's exactly what I did.
The MR one is way more powdery on application, so is a bit messier (but seriously not a big deal). As for the product itself, I did find the MR highlighter took less product for the desired result. When it comes to the contour the Sleek one just looks better, the MR one is a bit grittier. Both blushes are fantastic though, and even though they initially looked a bit too pink for me, they're actually lovely on, and they both have a gold shimmer to them.
At the end of the day one half of my face was different to the other but it's not noticeable at all!
So what do I recommend? There's really no major difference, apart from the price, but I prefer the Sleek one. It just seems to be the one I reach for when doing my makeup. It could be because I just like that brand, and the packaging is prettier, ridiculous reasons really.
