Saturday Style Diary

I'm blonde again!! Over a year ago I decided to stop getting highlights and let my natural colour grow through. It wasn't an easy process, but I stuck with it.....until yesterday! I missed my blonde hair so much and my natural mousy brown hair, was just so disappointingly dull.....and I couldn't be having that! Before.... I went to a new local salon called Hair Culture by Cherry  that my friend recommended to me, and now I'm recommending it to you! Cherry knew exactly what I wanted and got the colour and cut spot on! She made me feel so comfortable there as I can be quite fussy with how I like my layers and fringe! I absolutely love the results and  feel like a new woman being blonde again! If you're looking for a change Cherry has a great offer on the minute, a full head of meche or balayage with treatment, cut and blowdry for €75, check out her Facebook page here  for more info! After Cherry's lovely salon I also got my nails done at Westpoint Beauty Nicole a...

Lovin' Dublin

Image
I know I've been banging on about my exams for ages but I'm just so glad to have them over and done with! So last weekend I made the most of my new found freedom and rediscovered Dublin. And what a weekend to soak up the atmosphere! The sun was shining, the marriage referendum was passed and (most of) Dublin was out celebrating!! So myself and Dean headed into town and had an absolute ball! So I said I'd fill you's in on what I got up to and share some of my favourite places to go in Dublin. Botanic Gardens - Glasnevin First of all this is free, it's also massive and only around the corner from where I work, so how I didn't know what was behind the gates is beyond me!  Now I'll be honest, the the weather was on our side for this and I don't think it would be as nice on a dull day. But myself and Dean had so much fun wandering around, trying to pronounce plant names, feeding squirrels and testing our pain threshold on cactus plants! The gardens and green...

Wet n' Wild Summer Party

Image
What a great week to get back into blogging! On Wednesday evening I was lucky enough to attend  Wet n' Wild's  Summer Make-Up Party to celebrate the launch of their amazing new summer range. I have been a massive fan of this US brand since they came to Ireland last January (especially the nail varnishes!!) and the new range does not disappoint! The brand had a great set up in Bond Street Studios, which looked sooooo dodgy from the outside, but was transformed on the inside, to host an extremely cool summer party. Guests were treated to champagne, cupcakes & my all time favorite slush puppies! The room was beautifully decorated with giant balloons, floral displays, a projected video montage and a DJ playing some seriously amazing tunes! Of course I had one! :) All the tables had new products laid out for us to sample as well as a full display of everything on offer, and brand representatives to talk through the summer range.  There's so many colourful items in the col...

Revlon Nearly Naked Review

Image
I'm back on the blog.....yay!!! I have been studying my arse off for the last few weeks so unfortunately the blog had to take the backseat, as well as that I had no time to go anywhere or do anything, and I'm pretty sure no one wants to hear about accountancy!  Anyway.....as you many have seen on my Facebook page I'm going to do a quick review of Revlon's Nearly Naked foundation. I picked this up in Boots on Monday for a fiver, the usual price is €13.49. I flat out refuse to pay full price for a foundation, just to bring it home and find out it doesn't suit me! But with it being so cheap I couldn't resist! I bought it in shade 'Shell' as it looked similar to No.7's 'Warm Ivory' which I use a lot as well. Morning: So I applied this as I usually would with any other foundation. I started off with No.7's Essentially Beautiful moisturiser and a bit of Mac Prep & Prime on my t-zone. As you can see from the picture it's quite a liquid ...

Irish girl in Canada

***Guest Post by Siobhan Devitt *** I moved to Vancouver in June 2013, I’d travelled before in Europe and the US but really wanted to see how I’d get on living in a different country & setting up a life somewhere new. Before I moved to Vancouver I didn’t really know a lot about Canada…basically just that it was cold & far away! I soon found out that there’s a lot more to it than that and love living over here! The first, and hardest part, of moving is getting the visa sorted! Getting the visa was easily one of the most stressful things I've done, just waiting to be accepted and filling out the mountains of paperwork can be very confusing but there’s a lot of support out there for anyone thinking of applying. The moving2canada website and IEC Facebook page are a great resource for anyone currently going through the process. Once you get through that and have settled on a date to move it’s a blur of booking flights, planning, packing and saying your goodbyes before you get ...

Looking for something a bit lighter?

Image
Luckily Ireland has been blessed with some pretty decent weather over the last few weeks, but is anyone else really struggling to dress for it?! My daily struggle usually consists of..... 'do I wear a coat or not? I might need it in the morning but it'll be too hot in the afternoon and if I'm out late the evening it can get quite chilly.' Basically it's Ireland and there's bound to be some rain on the way! But I can't wear my winter coat, first of all it's too heavy to wear and I also don't want to be left lugging it around when the sun does come out! I need a 'go between' , a nice light coat that will cover me if there's a breeze, something I can layer it with a scarf if necessary and a coat that won't weigh my bag down when I'm enjoying some afternoon sunshine. So if your having the same issue, here's my favourite light weight coats from the high street, and I tried to keep them cheap enough, hopefully they'll only be a ...

Coachella Style @ Claire's Accessories

Image
I  was recently invited to  Claire's Accessories Graft on Street  to have a look at their Coachella inspired jewellery and accessories, and as a massive jewellery hoarder I was absolutely delighted to go! I'll be honest with you, when I hear Claire's Accessories I do think neon tutu's and the like. But I was pleasantly surprised to see they've seriously upped their game. The jewellery the Grafton Street store had was right up my alley, as I like my jewellery to be bangly, jangly* or dangly, and like I said Claire's Accessories did not disappoint. ***Keep reading for a great discount offer!!!*** The first thing that caught my eye was a whole wall of silver and turquoise jewellery. I'm talking beachy-boho distressed silver, chunky necklaces, intricate details on bracelets and rings, elephants, moons, stars, and of course some very trendy coin necklaces. These kind of pieces are me all over and I was literally like a child in a sweet shop, grabbing everything I...
