Room Tour

This is a blog post that I've been meaning to write for the longest time, but once again life got in the way!

So I recently got my room done up and wanted to share with you how I've decorated it. I'm still living at home and my room was fine, but it had the same built-in, white, wardrobes that had been there for more than 20 years!

Unfortunately I've no pictures of the old wardrobe but they were very old fashioned, not really white anymore and just a bit of an eyesore. So a few months ago we ripped the whole thing out and freshened the place up.

The Clothes Rail

This was one thing I just had to have. I searched high and low for a decent one, something that didn't look too industrial but was also sturdy. I picked this up this one in IKEA (click for link) for €40 and it's perfect! It holds loads and has a handy shoe rack on the bottom too.

Storage

I of course needed more storage, and once again searched high and low for something that was good quality but also modern. I decided to go for a a chest of drawers and went this this classic, solid wood one from Harvey Norman. Considering I didn't spend much on the rail I splashed out a bit on this. It's still on sale for €799 but I paid €500 for it on a discount night.

Then all I needed to do was to add some finishing touches to the room. I picked up a few simple frames from Penneys and Sostrene Grene and decorated the chest of drawers with these and some mismatched candles.

Fabricport

I also had another press in the room that I bought years ago in TK Maxx which needed some life added to it. I received this colorful ceramic pineapple from an Irish company called Fabricport and knew it would look great in the room. Fabricport is a great website to go to if your looking to accessorise your home with modern pieces.

Fingers crossed I'll have my own home in 2017, and for when that day comes I already have a long wishlist of products from the Fabricport website.

And sure what else would you do with a ceramic pineapple.... ;)

I hope you like what I've done with my room and am looking forward to sharing similar posts when I have a home of my own!
