My Netflix Recommendations - Drama Series
If you're following me over on Snapchat (@jenniferdevitt) you'll see that I watch an awful lot of Netflix..... like an awful lot! So look no further for my Netflix faves...
Power - IMDb 8.0
How more people aren't talking about Power is beyond me! Myself and Dean just randomly started watching it and I cannot express how unbelievably good it is! See that sexy, smoldering guy up there? Yea that's James St. Patrick aka Ghost, a super attractive businessman who owns one of New York's most exclusive nightclubs. As well as running his nightclub, Ghost is also one of New York's biggest drug dealers. Which of course never ends well, especially since he's started an affair with his high school sweetheart, who happens to be on a secret FBI task force, investigating the New York drug scene. Neither Ghost or his mistress know the full truth about each other, but with each gripping episode their two worlds come closer and closer to an inevitable head on collision.
*Definitely not suitable for kids!!
Devious Maids (Sky Boxsets) - IMDb 7.9
If you loved Desperate Housewives (or were insanely obsessed like I was) then Devious Maids will be right up your alley. It's produced by Marc Cherry and Eva Longoria and is pretty much the Latina version of Desperate Housewives. These "devious maids" all work in the same Beverly Hills neighbourhood, where they are privy to their very rich employers dirty little secrets. This comedy drama makes for light watching, but enjoyable none the least. And just like Desperate Housewives you can expect some steamy antics as well as the odd dead body.
Friday Night Lights - IMDb 8.7
The town of Dillon Texas has nothing going for it and neither do the people that live there. That is until Coach Taylor comes along. His sheer determination for the high school football team's success goes far beyond the weekly football game. Coach Taylor's commitment to each member of the team has a knock on effect throughout the town. You will be emotionally attached to all the characters instantly and will laugh and cry throughout their ups and downs. And don't worry it's not all about the football :)

Gilmore Girls - IMDb 8.0
Netflix now have all seven seasons of Gilmore Girls available for endless streaming and it has pretty much taken over my life! If you are of my vintage you probably watched this in your teens and were extremely jealous of Lorelai and Rory's very close mother/daughter relationship. For a programme where not much happens you'll be addicted in no time, as you grow to love the characters as well as the charming, fairy light covered, town of Stars Hollow.

90210/ Gossip Girl - IMDb 6.1/7.4
Two great programmes for in-bed binge watching. Both are classic American teen dramas following the lives of the super rich, spoilt teens of California/New York. Gossip Girl has a bit more of a mysterious element to it as 'Gossip Girl' herself is a sinister blogger dishing all the gossip on the lives of her New York peers. But who is Gossip Girl and how does she know so much?!

How To Get Away With Murder - IMDb 8.3
This is an absolutely brilliant show, for season one anyway! After that it gets a bit confusing. But it's a crime drama like no other and you'll be hooked on the dramatic storyline, of four law students who are actually trying to get away with murder.
Pretty Little Liars -IMDb 7.7
This is another programme that kinda loses the run of itself after a few seasons but season one is definitely worth the watch! Four teenagers (very stylish, may I add) are tormented by a mysterious texter only known as 'A' who is pretty much trying to ruin their lives after the mysterious disappearance of their friend.
Dexter - IMDb 8.8
Another brilliant crime drama, seen through the eyes of the killer. Dexter is a forensic scientist specialising in bloodstain patters...but creates a few bloodstains of his own, if you know what I mean ;)
Orange Is The New Black -IMDb 8.3
I haven't caught up with the latest series released last month but I have heard great things! OITNB is an amazing award winning series which centers around Piper, a white collar New Yorker who finds herself serving a jail sentence for a crime she committed in her early twenties. Piper struggles to adjust to prison life and the many different personalities that comes with it. This programme offers brilliant comedy with plenty of equally heartwarming and heartbreaking moments.
That should be enough to tide you over for a few weeks anyway :)
