The Shit List
I often do blog posts about my favourite makeup products and all the brands I love, but I feel it's my due diligence to inform you of a few products I've been steering clear from! Who else has countless tubes, pots, palettes and what not thrown in their makeup drawers, never to be touched again? I certainely have a good few! So here's some of my favourite.....well - non favourites!
Christ on a bike this was bad! This was given to me in a goodie bag and I was sooooo looking forward to trying it out, but I can safely say I'll never use it again. The first time I used it, I was all glammed up and my makeup was perfected for a night out with Dean. It was about two hours later when I checked myself, I could see that I had literally wrecked myself! The mascara had completely moved downwards!! It wasn't only under my eyes, it was even on my cheeks, in blotches! Like how did it even get there?!!!
There was an awful lot of hype about this palette when it first came out, so of course I was like a moth to the flame and bought one immediately! I was so disappointed when it arrived, and saw how cheap and flimsy the packaging was. It's obvious Crownbrush just repackaged it from somewhere else. The product itself isn't the worst, but I do find the creams a bit cakey and have no idea what skin tone would use all ten colours! If you want this palette, Google '10 Colour Concealer Palette' and there's hundreds of websites to choose from, where you can get it for half the price.
I have wanted to try a gel eye liner like this for the longest time! It seems like all the professional MUA's use these, so of course I wanted in! I picked up a cheap one to start out with, but I might as well have gone to Woodies and bought a tin of paint!!! This eye liner did not budge, and usually that's a good thing. But it didn't really come off with my make up remover either! My face was destroyed trying to rub it off (I swear to God I've wrinkles from that incident alone!) and I'd have the remnants of it around my eyes for days! I think I'll be sticking to my favourite Collection Fast Stroke Liquid Eyeliner!
My number one, go-to pressed powder is Mac's Mineralize Skin Finish Powder, but at €31 a pop it's a bit pricey for every day. So I picked up a mid priced powder from No7 hoping it would be a good, day time alternative. I think I used it once and I will never use it again. I applied a light dusting of it over my No7 foundation and could feel the powder on my skin all day. It felt like I'd walked through a sandstorm, OK maybe that's a tad dramatic, but it was so heavy and just literally on my skin all day!
Sleek Luminaire
Sleek Luminaire
Now you know I love Sleek but even they can get it wrong! This products is a concealer - I think? It certainly looks like one anyway, but mother of God it's bad! It's a liquid concealer in a tube but the minute you go to blend it in it dries and just rubs away...or worse clumps together on your of your face!!
I'm sure we've all come across some disastrous products, so leave a comment to let me know what's left you disappointed!
