So about that 6 week challenge....
I'm finally finished my six week challenge and have spent the whole weekend celebrating, by eating everything in sight! If you are following me on Facebook (The Life and Style of Jen) or on Snapchat (jenniferdevitt) you will have seen my progress throughout the weeks, but I think this picture sums it up nicely...
No, I didn't lose a massive amount of weight but I've definitely lost inches and have toned up everywhere. I'm fitting into smaller clothes, I actually own size 8 clothes again, and have found myself shouting from the changing rooms of shops looking for smaller sizes. And that's exactly what I wanted to get out of this.
I can't sit here and say I did everything right for the six weeks, I definitely let my diet slip more than I would have liked, but I ate extremely well 90% of the time. I also went to the gym religiously, which of course played a big part in this. I went 4 or 5 times a week and (most of) the classes were pretty intense!
But would I recommend the challenge? Yes and no. It worked alright for me. But I could have done it in any gym. The only thing that made it a 'challenge' is that I had to do 24 classes, get weighed and measured at the start, and then again at the end. There's no special classes for challenges, your progression isn't tracked, if you want to track your weight you're free to use the scales, but no one is really keeping an eye on you. It's just not as personal as you think it might be. Don't get me wrong the guys in the gym are great and really approachable (most of the time), but you'd be approaching them, you are kinda on your own.
And I definitely don't want to cast the gym in a negative light, the challenge is by no means personal training. But I'm now at the end of it and I don't know how much weight I lost (if any) because the trainers won't tell me. There's a challenge night out in two weeks and you get your results then and there, but I won't be there so it seems like it's tough shit for me. I'll have to go looking for my results when I'm back from my holidays in 4 weeks! :(
If you are interested in doing the challenge there's one starting on Monday September 7th. It is a great way to get your ass in gear! Just add 'Adam Cramer Pt-threesixty' on Facebook for more info!
