L'Oreal Colorista Spray Review

Image
I have been lusting over pastel pink hair on Pinterest for the longest time! And this weekend I finally got to try out the trend for myself. As this was a bit of an experiment and I didn't want to run the risk of a permanent disastrous 'do, I used the new L'Oreal Colorista wash out hair spray (shade Pastel Pink) from Bradleys Pharmacy . And it's as simple as that, you spray it on and wash it out. No commitment necessary. As I'm quite blonde the colour took to my hair extremely well. The bottle has a narrow nozzle so I gave my hair an all over spray, which gave a light colour. I then took sections of my hair and gave them a close up spray for a more intense colour. Now I did use most of the bottle, so you really only get one or two go's out of it. I absolutely loved the look, it's exactly what I wanted! The colour lasted the whole night and only a small bit of it wore off as I slept. This range definitely has something for everyone. I'm already dying to t...

We got mortgage approval!

Image
This will be a short and sweet post, as there's not much to it, but as you can tell from the title.....we got mortgage approval!!! If you haven't read my previous post on how we started the whole mortgage process, you can read it here . As before, to keep things on a timeline we got the (first) mortgage approval on February 7th after meeting the mortgage broker for the first time on January 21st. Our application was a bit delayed as we didn't have all our documents together for our meeting, and we needed a gift letter.* *Myself and Dean had received a gift (of money like 😉) from mine and his parents, so they just had to sign a form saying it was a gift and we did not owe it back to them. Click here for the template I used. Once all our documents were in, it took about a week for us to hear back from our mortgage broker with the approval.  I was in work with a client and I could see Dean ringing my phone like mad, but I couldn't answer. As soon as I was free I rang him...

Our Mortgage Journey - Taking The First Step

Image
So myself and Dean are finally in a position to (hopefully!) buy our own house! We have been saving for two years now and are at the point where we have a decent deposit together. We made a (free) appointment with a mortgage broker just to get the ball rolling, and here's how we got on.... Up until the meeting, I was completely clueless as how to even go about getting a mortgage. They should really teach you this in school! So I want to share my experience from the very start of the process, right to the end, so you know what to expect and what to prepare for.  To keep a timeline on things, this all started on January 21st 2017 with a meeting with a mortgage broker. Killian, our broker had asked us to bring the following documents: P60 - This is the form you get from your employer at the end of the year to show how much you earned that year. I only brought in my P60 for 2016 but you may need to show previous years as well. The last three months payslips - Just to show proof of you...

My Weekend In Oslo

Image
I'm back from Oslo over a week now, so I think it's high time I filled you's in on my amazing trip...... Getting there: This year I flew with Norwegian and return flights were €74 per person to Oslo Airport, Gardermoen. Last year I had paid €40 return with Ryanair to Rygge Airport, but at the minute these flights don't seem to be available.  Flying from Dublin to Oslo only takes two hours but once you're there you'll have to get a train to the city (Oslo S), from either airport. From Gardermoen the train only takes about 20 mins to the city. We stayed in the Scandic Victoria hotel, which is just off one of the city's main streets. The hotel was €120 a night and it was perfect. The rooms were standard size, but were clean, warm and had a great shower. The hotel also has a nice bar and offers an amazing breakfast selection, which is included in the price. Everything we wanted to do was in walking distance from the hotel so I couldn't recommend it enough...

Room Tour

Image
This is a blog post that I've been meaning to write for the longest time, but once again life got in the way! So I recently got my room done up and wanted to share with you how I've decorated it. I'm still living at home and my room was fine, but it had the same built-in, white, wardrobes that had been there for more than 20 years! Unfortunately I've no pictures of the old wardrobe but they were very old fashioned, not really white anymore and just a bit of an eyesore. So a few months ago we ripped the whole thing out and freshened the place up. The Clothes Rail This was one thing I just had to have. I searched high and low for a decent one, something that didn't look too industrial but was also sturdy. I picked this up this one in IKEA  (click for link) for €40 and it's perfect! It holds loads and has a handy shoe rack on the bottom too. Storage I of course needed more storage, and once again searched high and low for something that was good quality but also m...
