Mini Penneys Haul

Image
I had an hour to kill yesterday so sure enough I spent it in Penneys on Mary Street. That branch is my absolute favourite to shop in because it's so big and a lot of the time stocks the best bits Penneys has to offer :) So here's what I bought..... Nautical T-shirt €10 This top is a bit boxy on but I like that, comes in a few other colours too :) Blue print waterfall blazer €16 This blazer is a lovely light material and will go great with black or white jeans :) I have the sleeves rolled up a bit because the full length sleeves look a bit odd on me. Polka dot espadrilles €7 I had seen these on the Primark Instagram page and was dying for Penneys to get them in!! I'm delighted on got my hands on a pair! White sandals €10 Luckily for us Penneys are making their own version of the typical River Island sandal and at a fraction of the price! These also come in coral, black and green. Mules €18 I wasn't sure about these but I was throwing everything and anything into my baske...

A leather jacket, your best investment

Image
Want to be as cool as a cucumber or a bad ass bitch? Ok maybe that's a bit extreme, but there's no denying leather jackets have been one of the coolest things to wear since they were invented, and if you don't have one, why the hell not? I was recently scanning through pictures on my phone and realised nearly every outfit picture I have involved my trusty leather jacket. It got me thinking, what would I do without it? It's the center piece of every outfit and it has to be one of the best things I have ever bought, and three years later it's still looks as good as new. I bought my one in Mango for about €45 and it has been worth every cent! With the weather warming up I nearly wear it everyday, I throw a scarf on with it or maybe a gilet if I'm feeling adventurous. I wear it to work, on nights out, over a dress or with jeans, basically it never fails me. So if you need a wardrobe over haul or just want to add a few key pieces, start with a leather jacket! You wil...

How I got here...

Image
I've seen a good few bloggers doing this and thought it was high time I did one myself. As my blog and Facebook page  is still fairly new, many people might want to know a bit more about my background and who do I think I am to talk about style!   Let's go back to the start.... my interest in fashion began when I was about 19, not very young I know but it has to start somewhere. The day I finished my Leaving Cert I got a job in French Connection in my local shopping centre. It was a pretty sweet deal because I got '100% discount' (we couldn't call it free) on some clothes then a decent discount on others. With that, my sister also got discount in Arcadia shops which included Topshop and Miss Selfridge, so with a shit load of discount my wardrobe really started to grow!   As I continued to work in French Connection (and studied for my Business Degree) I really got my fashion wings, I found myself buying clothes every payday...

Trying out Tan Organic

Image
Last night when I reached for my favourite bottle of tan, Tantastic, I realised I was living a nightmare....I had run out of tan!!! I am shockingly pale and unfortunately I cannot pull it off so I always make sure I have a bit of tan on, even if it is just my arms and chest! So with no Tantastic or Cocoa Brown knocking about, I was left with one option.....TanOrganic. The bottle had been sitting in my press for ages, unused for whatever reason! But I said I'd give it a go. When I poured it onto my mitt I remembered why I had left it in press for so long, it's a clear liquid and I just can't be dealing with that! How are you supposed to know where you've tanned and where you've missed? I just don't like taking chances like that! Anyway, I was extra careful and made sure everywhere got covered.  Waking up this morning, the first thing I did was checked my hands, the fear of them being black is just as bad as the fear of them being pale. But thankfully they're ...

January's Payday Purchases

Image
It has been waaaaaay too long since I've had a bit of money to myself! For anyone else who gets paid by the month, you'll know the struggle between December's pay and January's pay is all too real! But the wait is finally over and I didn't even give my money a chance to burn a hole in my pocket! So as per usual me and my happy head went straight into town after work yesterday, for a bit of much needed retail therapy! And I got off to a great start! I picked up this stripey blouse from River Island for €37. It will go with every colour denim, tucked into a skirt or layered underneath a jumper and with lashing of gold jewellery! I also tried on this River Island dress, which isn't my usual style, but it was actually so flattering on! It's perfect for work and is a nice change from all the black I've been wearing! Unfortunately the one I tried on was a bit grubby but I'll definitely pick it up somewhere else. As well as that, I picked up a few make up b...

Dubai: Dream Destination

Image
If your staring out the window dreaming of a sun holiday, let me tell you, Dubai is the place to be dreaming of! I went there on a girls holidays about two years ago and haven't shut up about it since!  So if you're planning on going over, or are in need of some holiday inspiration, here's what you need to know. First things first.....Dubai is fab! It's just so fabulous, and so new (Dubai only started making big money in the 1970's)! Everyone and everything is money, and it shows! Sure the police cars are Lamborghini's, chances are you'll see someone with a pet leopard and  everyone goes around with designer hand bags hanging off their arms. The city itself is a work in progress, one half of it is just barren desert while the other half is an amazing metropolitan city with some serious architecture, beautiful restaurants, seven star hotels and shops galore.  Getting there and getting around Dubai may be a world apart from Ireland but is actually isn't...

Style Diary: Blanket Coat

Image
This picture garnered quite a bit of interest on the social media, so let me fill you in..... The coat is an Oasis 'blanket coat' very similar to a dressing gown and just as cosy! And it's a bargain at the minute, on sale reduced from €125 down to €44! It's really soft and the hood is massive so just what you need for cold, blustery days. And I'm sure we'll have no shortage of them in Ireland! As for my hair, in the top picture I styled it with my Yogi curling wand that Santa brought me a few years ago, but you can get them in Peter Mark as well :) I did a good few small sections of hair then brushed it out so the curls weren't too tight or neat. In the second picture (taken this morning) I did a quick job with the InStyler and it turned out a bit more wavy. I only got the InStyler a few weeks ago so I have to give it a few more goes on my own hair before I give my verdict. My hair is very fine so I'm finding the big barrel on the Instyler a bit d...
