Make up bag newbies!
There's been a few changes in my make up bag over the last few weeks and I'm only realising now how much I've accumulated since I last wrote about my make up! I got a good few new make up bits for Christmas and picked up a few other things myself while I was shopping for others! Sure what's a payday if you can't treat yourself?!
For today's make up I used all my new products, generally I'm not into dramatic make up and I work in an office so usually my make up is very natural....but it takes a lot of work to look this natural! So here's todays face and what I thought of all my new bits!
1.Urban Decay Naked On The Run Palette
This was on my Christmas wish list and thanks to my brother and sister, I finally have it! This palette is a great day to day palette, it comes with a travel size mascara (which I am loving!) a full size eyeliner, a full size lip gloss, six eye shadows, a bronzer and a blusher. I'll be honest, the bronzer and blusher are a bit dark for my pale skin but I just go easy with them on the brush and they're fine. This palette is €44 in Debenhams, not bad for the range of items in it.
2. NYX Butt Naked Turn The Other Cheek
Well this definitely gives Urban Decay's Naked range a run for it's money! But I'd be reaching for this palette more so for the blushers rather than the eye shadows. For me, nothing compares to the eye shadows in the Naked palettes (and I'm always torn between No.2 & 3, when it comes to picking a favourite!) but the blushers in this NYX palette are amazing! There's four blushers, a nude highlighter, a pink highlighter and a bronzer. The highlighters are very shimmery, so great for giving your cheeks a lovely glow! Unfortunately I don't know where you can get this palette in Ireland but do keep an eye out for a NYX stand to stock up on the blushers and highlighters in smaller sets or individually!
3. MAC Lipstick in "Faux"
This has to be of my new favourite makeup bag essentials!!! I feel like I've found "The One"....in terms of lipstick! It's a lovely matte rose colour, and for me it's the perfect natural shade for my skin tone and I can honestly say I've worn it every day since I got it! I've also seen this lipstick being used in so many make up tutorials for achieving slightly bigger lips...and rumour has it, Kylie Jenner herself uses it on her fake lips.
4. Catrice Concealer
I also bought a few new Catrice products over Christmas and even though it is a cheap brand I really stand by their products. I really liked the Re-Touch Light Reflecting Concealer which was a bargain at €4.49, I ran out of my Mac concealer so grabbed this and I have to say I'm impressed! Nice and light weight but still long lasting.
5. Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr Foundation
This is one product that has been popping up on my Facebook and Instagram feeds a lot lately. Usually I'm so sceptical of foundations from cheaper brands, mainly because I'm left disappointed more often than not. But this is currently on offer in Boots (€4.99) so I said I'll give it a go. I went with shade 200 "Soft Beige" and wore it work yesterday, and I'm sold! It's not too heavy, gives great coverage and lasted all day! My advice is to stock up on these while you can!
Let me know if there's any other beauty products I need to get my hands on or if you's have tried any of these!
